The Ground Beneath.
Discover the assumptions beneath how you see, know, value and act.
We all work from assumptions about what the world is, how we come to know it and what’s worth pursuing, mostly inherited and rarely examined. We can believe one thing and act on another. This instrument brings that hidden ground into view.
A diagnostic for the philosophy you already have.
Four movements
What you take reality to be (your ontology), how you think knowledge happens (your epistemology) and what you take to be worth it (your axiology). Then what your decisions assume, which isn’t always what you say.
A portrait, not a type
You won’t be given a label. You’ll get a portrait: your tendencies, where your positions support or contradict each other, the questions your worldview struggles with, and the thinkers who’d sharpen it.
No position wins
Process isn’t more evolved than substance, nor interpretation than measurement. Every position shows you something and hides something else.
It keeps three questions apart: whether your beliefs fit together, whether your actions match them, and what your worldview can and can’t see. Fitting together isn’t the same as being true. A delusion can be perfectly coherent.
The ground you’re standing on.
What you say on each tension and, where the fourth movement showed it, what you do.
These aren’t diagnoses, and some of the tensions may be worth keeping.
Not weaknesses: the questions your worldview is least equipped to answer, because of what it sees so clearly.
Where your worldview is likely to show up in your work.
First, company for the road you’re already on. Then the thinker who’d argue with you, which is where the growth is.
Members explore marks thinkers our members often study. If your affinities point there, or your challenger does, membership is a good place to go deeper.
Questions your worldview should keep asking, whatever it concluded today.
Where do you speak of becoming but build systems for Being?
Your result is saved in this browser only. Retake it in a few months to see how the ground has moved.
